Daniel and I were married on the 15^thof October 2011 at Glasgow University Chapel , the University where we met as undergraduates. Our wedding day was perfect in every way and I would like to thank you for the beautiful “Anais” gown that I chose to wear. Everyone says you know when you find the perfect dress and I certainly did with my gown. The intricate detail on the bodice was beautiful and the slipper satin was a dream to wear. I chose to have the crystal button back which along with my Alan Hannah headpiece added the perfect finishing touches.

Quello, Kenilworth

Quello is a quaint little boutique nestled in the heart of Old Kenilworth in one of the oldest buildings in the town. Clare started planning Quello back in 2005 shortly after being married in Italy and having had a bad experience when looking for her own gown. Following a career in sales and marketing and project management, alongside a degree in design, the time was right to go it alone and Quello opened its doors in 2007.

Now run by Clare and her small team, the boutique carries bridal dresses by five high end designers and Mother of the Bride. They also carry a great line of accessories for both brides and their mums keeping in mind what dresses they carry to make sure everything comes together perfectly. They keep it very select and very personal and have won several bridal awards along the way. Brides still pop in who first came through the doors back in 2007, mostly now with their children!

They pride themselves on their impeccable reputation for great service, energetic approach and attention to detail which continues to generate more and more brides each year. The time will soon come to make decisions on whether to move to larger premises or open a second boutique but Clare finds it very hard to let go of what Quello has become and what it has brought to the town of Kenilworth. Local residents love to include the boutique as part of their daily walk around the beautiful park and castle grounds of Kenilworth just to see the latest window display of gowns and all things sparkly.

Running a boutique is a busy business! If you’re not seeing a bride for an initial appointment, you’re fitting a bride for their forthcoming wedding or accessorising somebody else’s outfit with buttons, feathers or beading. There’s the shows to attend to buy future dress collections and the all important accessories. Previous customers drop by for a cuppa to show you the wedding pictures and there’s the windows to dress and the jewellery to polish. We open six days a week and still don’t manage to fit it all in but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Julian and I met in the Lake District in 2003. We got married on the 20th August 2011 at Babworth All Saints Church, a secluded church on the outskirts of Retford. Our wedding venue was Hodsock Priory near Blyth. I chose a beautiful Alan Hannah gown “Anais” made of Silk with Swarovski crystal detail, the train was extended and I opted for the button back. The dress felt absolutely exquisite and was the perfect gown for me, it was exactly what I had imagined I would be wearing on my wedding day.

I would just like to say a big thank you for making my fabulous ‘Melita’ dress which I wore for my wedding on 1st October, purchased from Brides of York.I tried on what felt like thousands of dresses.
I always wanted a big, statement dress, but at only 5 feet tall and a size 14, I was struggling to find anything I looked good in other than boring, plain and simple dresses! When I tried on your ‘Melita’ style I fully expected it to look awful, because it was such a stunning and detailed dress, but instead I LOVED it. It was exactly the kind of dress I’d dreamed of but was beginning to think I would never find. Due to your expertise, it looked great and I felt tiny and tall!
On the day I had so many compliments and the groom especially loved the dress! I felt like a princess all day and I will treasure the memories of wearing your beautiful creation always.
